That is where Tank Stands and Booster Pumps come in. With a tank stand, water flows down using gravity. With a booster pump, water is pumped using electrical power from your mains or a generator or a solar system.

1. Need for electricity.
Tank Stand: A tank stand uses gravity for water to flow from the tank to the house so there’s no need for electricity.
Booster Pump: A booster pump uses electricity. So if there’s a power cut you would have to use a generator or solar system to power the booster pump.
2. Pressure.
Tank stand: Water supplied using gravity has less pressure compared to water supplied using a booster pump.
